Unlike most small firms, Johns & Allyn has extensive experience at the appellate level, both in the California appellate courts and the California Supreme Court. Johns & Allyn's expertise in appellate matters includes appeals by both plaintiffs and defendants arising from complex civil litigation. In addition to appeals to the California Courts of Appeal and California Supreme Court, Johns & Allyn has handled numerous writs to the California Courts of Appeal, whereby our clients have sought expedited rulings on discovery and substantive matters during the course of pending litigation.

Johns & Allyn also handles criminal appeals to the United States Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals as well as the California Supreme Court and the California Courts of Appeal.

Johns & Allyn prides itself on the quality of its appellate work. However, our firm also recognizes the clients' concerns over the rising costs of litigation, and initially provides counseling as to whether an appeal should be prosecuted, or whether a case should be settled after trial. If a decision to appeal is made, Johns & Allyn provides vigorous advocacy in any appellate court in California.
